Why Modeling?

The Fashion Industry has always been something I have been extremely drawn to. As a child my parents took me to some casting calls and ended up meeting with some agencies and having a few offers. My parents decided it would be best to wait until I was older, but some of the stories they have told me from those days have stuck with me and I always hoped that when I was older, I would give it my all to be a part of this industry.

I have always loved fashion, especially when it comes to the 90's and 2000's. Here are a few of my personal favorite looks:

Why:

I truly believe that some of the most brilliant and creative minds work in the fashion industry. Every single piece that goes into the clothing, makeup, photography, and into the campaigns and ads amaze me. To be able to work around such creative and inspirational people would be a dream come true. When I tell people I want to model they always assume that it's for the "glitz and glamour", but the real reason I want to model is to be a part of art. Because in my mind fashion is art.

I've always looked up to girls like Bella Hadid, Taylor Hill, Gigi Hadid, and so many more. They are not only such strong female forces, but use their platforms for good. Bella, volunteering at girls groups, the New York food bank, and being an active advocate for so many people in need. Taylor Hill, hosting adoption events for shelter dogs. Gigi, doing a collab with Stuart Weitzman to raise money for the 'Pencils of Promise' organization and helping build multiple schools for children, even some in Africa!! I look up to these strong and kind women and if I were to ever be blessed enough to build a platform, I would love to do something along those lines as well. Having little girls look up to you is the coolest job in the world!

Starting from the bottom is key and the absolute rite of passage. But my dream companies to work for would be Victoria's Secret and Dior! Victoria's secret now has many shorter girls featured in their in store ads, and have had a few girls walk in this most recent VS show, that were 5 foot!

I genuinely believe that I have what it takes to be a part of this industry, and to make a name for myself one day. I am well aware that this industry is not for the weak. Along with its many incredible opportunities and blessings it is hard work, lots of tireless traveling or waiting long periods of time for jobs especially at the beginning, and it is extremely competitive. I am well aware that being 5'3" puts me at a disadvantage in this field but I believe in myself 1000% and know that these sacrifices I listed are well worth it. I truly believe that I have something unique to offer to this industry. I just need to find people and an agency who believe in me as much as I believe in myself! :)
